Plans & billing

Keep your VAT details ready for billing

Understand country prefixes and validation messages in the billing form.

Select the billing country first

Open Account → Billing and choose the billing country. For supported EU countries, the VAT field shows the country prefix. Enter the national part; if you include the prefix too, UptimeOwl normalizes it rather than storing it twice.

Validation is part of the profile

EU cross-border VAT validation uses VIES. Greek business details use a separate AADE registry check. Where registry details are returned, review any suggested company or address values before saving.

An invalid or unvalidated VAT number does not earn a tax exemption. Follow the form’s message and the tax shown in the billing summary; an unsuccessful VAT check need not stop you saving the rest of the profile.

When details do not match

Check the country, national number and company information. If you believe the registry response is wrong, verify the registration with your accountant or the relevant authority. Do not enter another company’s number just to clear a warning.
