Incidents, not every failed check
The fifth confirmed downtime incident within a rolling 15-minute window pauses email for that monitor. Several failed checks inside one incident count as one incident, not several.
How email resumes
The monitor needs 15 continuous healthy minutes observed through successful checks with healthy confirmed status. Failures, maintenance observations and stale gaps restart that healthy period.
When it settles, one recovery message is queued for eligible recipients. Old paused alerts are not replayed. No extra pause-notification email is sent.
Other channels keep their own watch
This automatic quiet period affects monitor email, not Slack, Teams or account/billing emails. You can still inspect checks and detections while email is resting. Turning an integration off manually is a separate control.
